Book a callClimate studies of wind, heat and sun often take days or weeks. So the climate stays out of the room where people decide on a design. We started infrared.city to change that.
The engine began as research at the City Intelligence Lab of the Austrian Institute of Technology in Vienna. There, the team trained the first machine-learning models that predict wind and sun in seconds instead of hours.
The research had a name: InFraReD, an intelligent framework for resilient design. For three years the team published it in journals, books and at conferences: real-time solar radiation, fast wind prediction, and design optimisation for wind comfort and sun.
In 2023 the founders took the research out of the lab and founded Infrared City GmbH, to bring it into daily design work. The team brings architects, environmental engineers and software engineers together.
